The night belongs to the barn owl and, if you’re very lucky, you might catch a glimpse of one of these wonderful birds as it hunts for its supper.
I’m fortunate enough to have observed them several times, most often on the banks of the River Witham in Lincolnshire, England.
This is my latest depiction of the beautiful barn owl, this time in flight during a night patrol as it hunts for its prey.
It’s painted in professional oil paints on high quality canvas.
The wonderful Mistle Thrush. Spotted one winter by the side of the Oxford Canal in England, no doubt hunting for snails and other tasty treats.
A professionally printed Giclee print on 300gsm matt paper. Giclee prints are of a much higher quality and durability than inkjet or laser prints. They are true archival quality, with accurate colour matching to the original artwork.

A grouse in full flight observed in flight one winter on the North Yorkshire moors.
I drove up a track onto a North Yorkshire moorland in my Land Rover, with permission of the landowner and gamekeeper of course, to sketch and photograph grouse on the moors.
This print is from one of a series of paintings I did from my observations that week.
